Spend an evening learning stockmanship and stewardship techniques from renowned clinician Curt Pate. He will address gathering, sorting, processing, loading, treating and moving cattle in an effective manner. He’ll provide examples of how to safely work cattle on foot or horseback. This special, in-depth livestock handling clinic will take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center, a fantastic learning environment for anyone involved in handling livestock on your operation.
Pate has personal experience incorporating effective stockmanship principles that support a “for profit” mindset. He focuses on highlighting the increased economic benefits of handling stock correctly.
Ranch-to-Retail Workshop – Friday, March 23, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Ranch-to-Retail program will demonstrate the importance of producing a more consistent and high-quality beef product through a series of hands-on lessons presented by various meat scientists.
Attendees will view live cattle (through video) and then follow those cattle through grading and a hands-on cutting session which will break the carcass into retail cuts. Participants will experience first-hand the differences encountered in carcass composition and see the retail value differences between animals.
If you’ve ever wondered how your animals are valued in a meat case, this is a can’t-miss session.
