John Hutcheson, Ph.D., is Director, Cattle Technical Services for Merck Animal Health. He specializes in beef cattle management, with his primary interests in growth and development; carcass growth, implants, and their management to continually improve production efficiency at each stage of production while balancing end point carcass expectations. He is also interested in receiving cattle nutrition and management.
Dr Hutcheson helps lead research initiatives that evaluate best management practices related to economics, health, and production of beef cattle.
Dr Hutcheson is a member of the Plains Nutrition Council, American Society of Animal Science, American Dairy Science Association, American Meat Science Association and American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists.
Dr. Hutcheson holds a Doctorate in animal nutrition from Colorado State University and a Master of Science and Bachelors of Science degrees in animal science from Texas A&M University.
